Since I started playing poker (March 2004) I have mainly played Texas Hold'em. A few people have told me a good way to improve your game is to try and learn new poker games like Omaha and Stud. Recently, after reading up on Omaha, I decided to try my hand at a Pot Limit Omaha tournament. Maybe it was beginners luck but I was able to place 1st in the event. Maybe I'm not just a Hold'em player after all.
